Most dental problems are cheaper, quicker and more comfortable to fix when they’re small. A check-up and cleaning every six months is the easiest way to keep them small.
Is it right for you?
Check-ups, cleaning & fillings usually helps with:

- Tartar, bleeding gums or bad breath
- Small cavities and chipped edges
- Replacing old silver fillings with tooth-coloured ones
What happens, step by step
- 1ExaminationA full check of teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, with X-rays if needed.
- 2Scaling & polishingTartar and stains are removed and teeth polished smooth.
- 3FillingsAny decay is removed and filled with tooth-coloured composite.
Aftercare
- Gums may feel tender after a deep cleaning; warm salt-water rinses help.
- You can eat normally once any numbness wears off.
Common questions
Does scaling damage enamel?
No. Scaling removes hardened tartar from the tooth surface. It doesn’t remove enamel.
My gums bleed when I brush. Should I stop?
Keep brushing gently. Bleeding is usually a sign of gum inflammation that a cleaning and good home care will settle. Come in for a check.
