Dentures in Lokhandwala. Which type is right for me?

By Make Me Smile Dental Health Centre, Shastri Nagar Lane 2, Andheri West · Updated 1 October 2026

The short answer

Full dentures replace all the teeth in a jaw. Partial dentures fill gaps between your remaining teeth. Implant-supported dentures clip onto two or more dental implants so they don’t slip. Most dentures take four or five visits over a few weeks, and a few weeks to get used to. Make Me Smile in Shastri Nagar, Andheri Lokhandwala makes all three types.

Dentures have come a long way. A well-made denture is shaped to your face, matched to the shade you choose, and fitted so you can eat, speak and smile with confidence again. At Make Me Smile, we make dentures for patients across Lokhandwala and Andheri West, and you can come in for fittings and adjustments any day of the week.

The three main types

Full dentures

For when all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw are missing. They rest on the gums and are held by a close fit and suction. Upper dentures usually hold better than lower ones.

Partial dentures

For when some natural teeth remain. They fill the gaps and clip discreetly onto neighbouring teeth, and help stop your remaining teeth from drifting.

Implant-supported dentures

Two or more dental implants are placed in the jaw, and the denture clips onto them. This is the best fix for a lower denture that won’t stay put, and it helps preserve the jawbone.

How a denture is made

  1. Consultation: we check your gums, any remaining teeth and your bite.
  2. Impressions: accurate moulds and bite records.
  3. Wax try-in: you see and approve the look, shade and bite before the final denture is made.
  4. Fitting: the finished denture is fitted and adjusted.
  5. Review: we ease any sore spots in the first few weeks.

Dentures, implants or a bridge?

Each has its place. See our guide to replacing a missing tooth for a side-by-side comparison.

More questions

My dentures keep slipping. What can I do?

Gums and bone shrink over time, so dentures loosen. A reline or new denture often fixes the fit. For a firm hold, two or more implants can anchor the denture so it clips in place.

Can I eat normally with dentures?

After a few weeks of practice, most people eat most foods. Start with soft food cut small, and chew on both sides at once to keep the denture stable.

How long do dentures last?

Usually several years. We check the fit at your regular visits and reline or remake when needed.
